Surnames: Estill Estell
Hello. I am looking for info on James Madison Estill (sometimes written as Estell). He migrated from Kentucky to Missouri to the Bay Area California. He often went by the title General although I have no military record. He was a state senator for California and helped establish San Quentin Prison. His family apparently lived in Benecia CA while he seems to have lived mainly in a hotel in San Francisco.
He is a Grandson of Capt. James Estill.
