I am a descendant of Isaac Esty and wife Mary Towne Esty. She was hanged as a witch at Salem 1692. Does anyone know the cemeteries where they are buried? I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

I have easttys in my tree going back to 1750s. they were from suffolk then. Does anyone have a john eastty born 1753 in their tree as I know the name has variable spellings, even today!

I am trying to find out information about Sybley emanuel Esty Jnr born in Panama Cube around 1897. He emigrated to St Mary, Jamaica with his parents where he grew up. I have some information on some earlier generations of Estys' that I obtained from R Harris (in Edina MN) that dates from 1592 to 1712 England if anyone is interested.

Esty/Estey and a Salem witch

My great-grandfather came here from England and changed Esty to Estey since he thought the original spelling was too short. Living here in MA, my family has had the opportunity to visit Salem. One of the "witches" burned at the stake was a Mary Esty. The spelling of the surname is varied including Eastie, Easty, Esty, Estey, etc. How would I go about finding if there was any relation?

Also, just curious if I have any "unmet" relatives out there! My grandfather was Otis Estey. He married Hazel Davis. Both are now deceased but lived and raised their children in Stoughton, MA until moving to Wareham, MA. They had 7 children, Mel Estey (deceased, last known addy in TX), Otis Estey Jr, David Estey, Richard Estey, Elizabeth (Estey) Brennan, Bernice Estey (deceased), and Mary (Estey) Bunavicz...my Mom. If you think you may know any of my relatives or may be one yourself, please feel free to contact me!

Jeffrey Esty (Estey, Estye, etc.) born about 1515, England, died 1592/3. Will dated 6 Dec 1592, proved 12 Oct 1593 at Hintlesham, Suffolk Co, England. Resided Hintlesham, County Suffolk, England, He was a husbandman; his name is recorded on the subsidy List of Suffolk County, one of those taxed at Hintleshamin 1568, his will was recorded at the Consistory Court of Norwich, England in which he mentions his seven sons and "young Jeffrey, the son of his son Christopher. Sons: John, Edmund, William, Thomas, Richard, Jefferye, and Christopher. Note it is the young Jeffrey above that traveled to America, before 1636, with his own son Isaac, a boy. I have visited Hintlesham several times and will again on Oct 1st this year.

Looking for the parents of Joseph F. A.ESTY (b: abt 1863). Joseph's marriage records list Joseph's father as Jonathan ESTY and mother as Mary NICHOLS and his birth place as NY but various towns were listed. So far he has only been found in Massachusetts starting in 1870 when he was living with his mother Mary ESTY in Methuen, MA. He used various birth towns but most were in NY.
Joseph F. A. ESTY was married to 3 women.
1) Theresa DEMPSEY (m. 1887 in Methuen, MA)
2) Kathleen Kent (m. abt 1895 in Stoneham, MA) and 3) He used the assumed name of Joseph F. A BLAIR during this relationship.
3) Nellie Welch (m. 1917 in Cambridge, MA).
He fathered 4 children with Theresa DEMPSEY and 3 with Kathleen KENT
I would like to share any information on any of these families..

I'm looking to share information about Joseph F. A. ESTY who changed his name for a brief period of time between 1896 & 1906 to Joseph F. A. BLAIR.

He was married 3 times. First to Theresa DEMPSEY in 1887, in Methuen, second to Kathleen (Katie) KENT about 1886 in Stoneham, and third to Nellie Welch in 1917 in Cambridge. I am anxious learn more about these families.

Mary Estey married John Weaver 1815 in New Brunswick , Canada . John was the son of George and Margaret ( Hall ) Weaver .

Found in 1916 obituary cuttings book at Tama County Museum, Toledo, IA. Probably taken from either a Tama or Toledo, IA newspaper dated 2 March 1916.

FUNERAL SERVICES OF JOHN F. ESTY WERE HELD AT M. E. CHURCH SUNDAY

John F. Esty was born in the state of Vermont on March 10, 1838. At the age of eleven years he came with his parents to Iowa, where lived until 1862, when on September 3, he enlisted at Davenport in Company A of the Second regiment of the Iowa Volunteer Calvary. He served in great western
campaign of the Civil war until its close, when he was mustered at East Port, Mississippi, on June 17, 1865. For the past twenty years he has been a resident of Chelsea, where he died, February 25, aged seventy-seven years, eleven months and fifteen days.

His only surviving relatives are Miss Addie Esty, of Des Moines, his nephew, E. H. Esty, of West Union, and his second cousin, Elroy E. Hayward, of Chelsea. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Ash at the M. E. church, Sunday morning, at 10 o'clock. Music was furnished by Mesdames A. W. McNall, H. R: McKeen, C. P. Coulson and H. E. Graham and Miss Emma Jensen and Messrs. E. L. Stotelmyre and Vaughn Stoddard. Pallbearers were Messrs. Theo. Boyer, James Upah, Amza Brush, Fred McNall, F. B. Squiers and J. W. Shaler. Interment was in the Haven cemetery.

I am searching for information on my GG-Grandfather, Elijah Esty. Elijah was born in Kingston, Vermont in 1801. He married Mary Ripley (date of marriage unknown). Mary and Elijah had nine children (Curtis B., Margaret Mary, Ruhama J., Franklin, Hiram Spaulding, Sarah, Dinah Emily, Horace, and Asenath). We have no date or place of death for Elijah or Mary.
