I'm researching a family name of EIGHTEEN and one theory I've come across is that the family were perhaps Huguenots who settled in Hadleigh, Suffolk, UK. There is a family living there in the late 16th cent, recorded as AYTTON, but this changes to AITON and then EIGHTEEN(E) appears during the next century in this area of Hadleigh.

Has anyone on the list got experience of Huguenot ancestry as I would like to explore this theory farther?
