Searching for a Martin Sather formerly named Even Evenson.
Found a death record in Stevens Co. MN, because as my Great-aunt says he had farm/land there.
Death certificate says the more detailed info in Stevens Co. MN, though he died in Douglas Co. MN. Birthplace: Guldbransdalen, Norway (town name = Gudbrandsdalen, Norway)

A long and active life came to an end on February 24 in the passing of Martin Sather at the Bethany Home for the aged at Alexandria, MN.
Mr. Sather was born at Gullenandsdalen, Norway March 31, 1869. Early in life he emigrated to this country with his parents. After a short stay in Iowa they moved to MN. They took up land near the outlet of Lake Amelia in Hoff Twp. of Pope Co. MN. Mr. Sather remained on the old home farm until his retirement a few years ago.
Funeral services were held on Weds. afternoon at 2 o'clock at at Hoplin Funeral Chapel. after which he was laid to rest in the Lake Amelia Cemetery. Pastor C. M. Monks of Glenwood conducted the services.
Surviving Martin Sather is his wife, Marie Korthof Martin and a number of distant relatives.
Found obit notice for 2 wives, one previously unknown.

Mrs. Martin Sather died Monday from cancer. The funeral was held at the Vestro Zion Church.
(Now possibly called West Zion Church.)

Mrs. Martin Sather died August 1, 1935. Interment at Walden Twp. Cemetery, which my great-aunt says is the same Lake Emily cemetery. Died of pernicious anemia. Age 69 years. She was born Jan. 6, 1866 in Faribault, MN.

Found a Morris Tribune (June 11, 1920) newspaper notice for a marriage of Martin and Lena Nichols of Faribault, Rice Co. MN. Married June 7, 1920. Lena F. Nichols, of Rice Co. and Martin E. Sather of Stevens Co. MN. The marriage took place at the Methodist parsonage, Dr. G. L. Powell officiating.
Lena was age 54; Martin was age 51 when they married.
3rd wife: Marie Korthof Martin (married about 1938-39) My great-aunt knew of her.

Wagner Twp. -- Ole Evenson, a native or Norway, was born Sept. 29, 1827. He was educated in the schools of Norway. In 1851 he emigrated to the United States, stopping in Rock County, Wis., working on farms and in saw-mills. In 1856 he bought 160 acres of land in Wagner Township, where he settled. Has since bought 80 acres more. Has a fine residence, built five years since, and a well improved farm. He was married in 1857 to Miss Helga Johnson, born Aug. 17, 1829. They have seven children - Even, John, Raile, Jane, Tillie, Christena, Ole. Both members of Lutheran church. Republican in politics. History of Clayton County, Iowa, 1882, Wagner Township, p. 1134-35
