EVERS - Germany to Sweden to Connecticut

Madeleine EVERS  (View posts) Posted: 19 Sep 1999 7:05AM GMT
I am the great-great granddaughter of JOHANN
FRIEDRICH (FRITZ) EVERS who emigrated to Sweden from Germany in the year 1821 following his brother Asmus Heinrich who preceeded him in 1812.They were the sons of JOACHIM HEINRICH EVERS ( 1766-1836 ) and CATHARINA MARGARETA SIEMSSEN ( 1772-1846 ).
Asmus Heinrich and Johann Friedrich had a brother Herman Mattias who emigrated to the U.S. (year unknown) where he changed his name to Joseph Evans. Joseph visited his brothers in Gothenburg in his 3-masted barque "WHITE SEA" of Boston,MASS.in the 1850's. A painting of "White Sea" was inherited by my father Albert EVERS ; a most
valued heirloom it was lost to us (stolen or "borrowed" from storage in California in the
1970s) Should anyone ever come across it I should be forever in their debt.
I grew up in California but now live in Sweden. I have a cousin who lives in Connecticut.
