Almost forgot to mention....

Sarah Everton was probably born circa 1710 as she is mentioned in William Joy's will in 1725. To be part of this will, she would've been at least 12 years old at the time. This also means she was married between 1725 and 1736 (Jeremiah's will).

Previous message below ...

I have some additional information regarding Jeremiah Everton. First, there really isnt any evidence that I'm aware of that places Jeremiah and Hannah's daughter Sarah marrying Thomas Forehand. If there is please forward it to me.

I did manage to find Jeremiah and Hannah's marriage record. They were married at All Hollows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland on March 21 1701/2. The copy is a one line entry and is difficult to read but her last name appears to be "Irish???".

Thanks

Steven

Hi Karen, David Ketchum's daughter, my great grandmother, Patey(Jr.) married Joseph William Christian and they raised their children in Holden, MO. I've been to the property. There is an old family cemetary there that is mostly in weeds now.

I know that Patey had brothers and sisters that lived in MO. also and Arkansas. My parents stayed with a Ketchum uncle in AR when they were on their way somewhere. Can you give me information about David Franklin and other siblings?

Did your grandfather ever mention who David Ketchum Sr.'s father was? Did he mention any indian blood in the family?

Kathleen

Hi, Wow! Apparently there are a lot of researchers trying to find out who David Ketchum's parents were. Do you absolutely have documentation of this? That would be wonderful. I knew that David and Patey's marriage was recorded in the Hickman bible but didn't know that it had other info. I would love to have any information on David and his family you have. Thank you so much.
Kathleen

Hi Dan....just noticed your post regarding Harold Everton and the family history you have on the Everton's back to Birgmingham, UK. I am interested in what you might have.....my husband's great aunt, Jane Elizabeth Dalley married Thomas Henry Everton about 1876 in Kings Norton. Their children are Jennie, Thomas, Harold, Arthur, Maryon, Norman and Dora. It was noted that he had Everton relations in New Jersey and it appears that possibly Harold did indeed immigrate to New Jersey. Any addtional information? My email address is dalley@msni.net. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Susan Dalley

Re: Ketchum relatives

Hi, Well, we've been researching for over 46 yrs now, and have yet to be able to document most of our hard-won data. Our PC crashed recently & most of our source notes have vanished, but the info of the HICKMAN Bible is on the internet, in Ancestry's fam tree/groups, on familysearch.com the LDS site, on HICKMAN web pages & other sources.

Our KETCHUM data has kind of sorted itself out over the years, our lines stem from Isaac Martin > John Jackson > Joseph > Edward > Jacob Israel > ad finitum etc. There aren't that many David KETCHUM's to research, and I can say we have, over the yrs, checked most of the early one out. This David is born at the right time, in the right locale, is listed in other Hickman recs, has the same children, has the same wife ("Patey") etc. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, then probably it is a duck...
So in answer to your question, do we have "absolute documentation" (whatever that is, with early recs being what they are...) then, NO we don't. But at least you'll have fun trying to find this documentation, which is almost non-existant at this point.
One source is the DAR records, but even they are flawed, big time! Even some of my own lineages have major errors in the DAR Lineages records, the BLOCKER family from Edgefield Dist SC etc. So nothing is absolute proof, not even grave stones, death certs, family Bible recs, bapt certs etc; all are dependant upon what other people write down at the time, which may or may not be correct.
Hope you have good luck in your hunt...
