Surnames: Ewell, Summers, Shuttleworth, Dryden
Joshua Ewell, son of David & Drucilla (Shuttleworth) Ewell, married Charlotte Summers Jun 30, 1838 in Van Buren (later Cass, later Bates, later Vernon Coo, MO. They had the following children:
….Ephriam Summers Ewell b. 1840
….Ira Austin Ewell b. 1842
….Henrietta and Harry Ewell, twins, b. Abt 1844
Charlotte Ewell is not listed in the 1850 Bates Co, MO Census with her husband and their children. Did she die during child birth with the twins in 1844?
"With Plow and Pen: The Diary of John G. Dryden," says that on Dec 16, 1878 John Dryden assisted in digging grave for Joshua Ewell. Does anyone have any information they could share regarding his death?
