My Ewer line descends from Thomas Ewer who came from London England to Massachusetts in 1635. Descendants lived in Barnstable and Sandwich. Have you seen Amos Otis's notes on this family in Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families? In those notes I find an descendant Ebenezer Ewer b. 1758. Not sure if he was a Quaker, but many of the Ewer descendants were Quakers. Thomas Ewer 2nd, son of our immigrant ancestor, had some difficulties with the courts due to being a Quaker. My ancestor was Paul Ewer, born 1752 in Sandwich, moved to Lee, MA about 1781, then Cayuga Co. NY in 1804, then Tompkins Co. NY in 1817. Paul had a half brother named Lazarus who was a Quaker, but Paul was not. Several sons and daughters of Lazarus also moved to Cayuga Co. NY. I'll do my best to answer further questions on this family!
