Wilhelm or Karl Ewert

You are correct, it is a hard line to trace. I have plenty of Wilhelms and Karls but none that fit the dates or places you listed. Remember that because of German accents the name Ewert was often pronounced and spelled Evert or Evart, I have even seen Everett.
