I went to the library today. I forgot to bring yor message with, so I forgot which year it was. It was a little more time consuming than I thought. because each book is for about a 6 month period. I checked May 1888 ato June 1894 and couldn't find anything for Charles (checked Ewart and Ewert).
I was amazed at how many very simular German names there were; besides Ewart, there was Ewirt, Evert, Ewald, Ewirt, Eward, Ewardowdsky, Ewartowsky and Ewald. I imagine any one of them could have changed their names (or they were changed for them) to "Ewert", to simplify things.
Anyway, each time I go to the library I'll check a couple of more years, and I'll post the Ewerts I do find on the Ewert message board here.
