Services for Sgt. Robert Ewoldt, 22-year-old Whittemore Marine killed in action Feb 6 (1968) in Quang Nam, Vietnam, were set today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Whittemore with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Margaret Ewoldt, Whittemore; sisters, Mrs. John Christensen, Lexington Park, Md.; Mrs. Gerald Meyer, Whittemore; brothers, Henry, in service in Vietnam; Lynn Craig, Janan, and James all at home; also grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Lindhorst, Algona and Henry Ewoldt, Humboldt.
Sgt. Ewoldt was a 1964 graduate of Algona High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps in August of that year. He had served in Vietnam since October, 1965.
He was one of Whittemore's popular young men. Military rites were held.
