John Christian Ey

My gggfather, James Sawyer, married Ann Ey, daughter of John Christian Ey, at St Margaret, Westminster (London, England) on 17th November 1839. Can anyone shed light on this family? Both parties listed their address as 3 Pool Place, Westminster and J.C. was a mariner.

Obviously it is a long time since the orignal query but still..

My great grandmother was an Ey (Amy Emmeline)

Your info re the marriage certificate was useful since it seems to clear up confusion I had, thinking Ann Ey was sister of Amos (Amas) Ey. Amos' 1860 marriage certificate states his father (John Christian Ey) to be a tailor. The family has a strong association with the Marylebone/Westminster area.
If anyone know if Ann and Amos were related it would be helpful

Ey-Ei ca 1850-1900's

Jennifer
There is now an EI board. I am searching for descendents of an EI family who emig from Hesse;and settled in Pittsburgh area.
At one time there were EI's in Balt., as was one of the PGH EI's, Josephine b 1888 who was a member of the SSND order. Her name was Sr. Mary Florita.
It looks like some of EI's from Hesse may have changed the orignal spelling to EY.
B. Hilderson

I have very little information on this family, but I am willing to share any data. Contact me @ gleary@dpsolutions.com if I can be any help. My step-mother is a decendant of William Henry EY d. Jun 15, 1939 in Baltimore, MD. He was married to Louisa LOHMAN. I have most of his decendants information. Is EY a common name in your family? Where in Germany do they hail from? Any info would be helpful.
