Henrietta Marie Kuhlwein, 87, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:41 a.m. at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, Ohio where she had been since February 22, 2012.
Henrietta was born August 29, 1924 in Lancaster, Ohio to Harry Webster and Hilda Marie Schromme Eyman.
She was a 1942 graduate of Lancaster High School and moved to Washington Court House, Ohio in 1951.
She was a U.S. Navy veteran, stationed at Norfolk, VA and served as a WAVE during World War II.
Henrietta was assistant treasurer for the Washington City Schools for many years before her retirement in 1986.
She was a member of the McNair Memorial Presbyterian Church; Paul H. Hughey Post #25 of the American Legion; the Fayette County, Ohio Historical Society; the Twenty Club and the Fayette County Chapter of the School Employees Retirement Organization.
She formerly was an Emergency Communications Duty Worker for the American Red Cross in Fayette County.
Henrietta was preceded in death by a son, Gregory L. Kuhlwein on February 11, 2001; by her parents, her step mother, Ruth Eyman; two brothers, Louis and Carl Eyman and a sister, Helen Davis.
She is survived by her husband, George L. "Louie" Kuhlwein whom she married September 7,1947; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Doug Davis of Dover, Ohio and Diane and Tom Palmaccio of Haverhill, Massachusetts; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Kuhlwein-Price and her husband, Glenn, of Washington Court House; six grandchildren, Krista Steiner and her husband, Joel, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Kurt Davis and his wife, Stephanie, of Aurora, Ohio, Julie Palmaccio and her husband, Todd Rothermel of Tewksbury, MA; Kevin Palmaccio and his wife, Jana, of Boston MA, and Lauren Kuhlwein and Grant Kuhlwein, both of Washington Court House; two great grandsons, Andrew and Benjamin Steiner and a brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Eyman of Mars Hill, NC.
The funeral will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Steven A. Watters, pastor at the McNair Memorial Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.
