Hi, I was a friend of John's from about 1981-1988, when he died in Camden Town at the age of 70. I was 29 when I met him and he in his 60's yet we became very close friends. We had a mutual friend from our sqatting days in 70's Tolmers Square
He had very bad problems with his lungs.
I have a good memory and also saved all of the letters and creative cards, he even gave me a beautiful one page story 'to do with as I pleased - i could wipe my arse with it if I liked' I also have small mixed media peices he made. Little artworks he gave to me. My only missing item is The god Trip, which someone borrowed and never returned. It had a dedication.
John has a daughter Trudy who lived in Esst Grinstead in mid 80's - shw was an ex Scientologist and a son - I never met him, a vicar on the Isle of Wight I think
