Cindy, I don't know if this will be any help or not but in Wayne County and Monroe County in New York there is a brother of my Great-Great Grandmother's that I haven't researched yet. I do think the names in that line might fit with the names that you are looking for based upon the dutch naming conventions. They are as follows:
Johannes Faas born 5/21/1836 Schoondyke died 1/4/1921 Wayne County - Lakeview Cemetary
married to Maria Desson 3/24/1846 Hoofdplaat died 3/27/1882 Wayne County - Lakeview Cemetary
They emmigrated to Rochester, NY in 1871 with 1 child and moved to Williamson, Wayne County, NY by 1875.
They had the following children:
Daniel 5/19/70 Breskens, Netherlands
John 1871 Rochester, NY (possibly died before 1885)
Henry 1875 Rochester, NY (possibly died before 1885)
Jacob 12/18/1876 Williamson
John 8/10/1879 Williamson
Possibly one of these children was the father of your grandfather.
Johannes Faas' siblings where as follows:
Hendrik Faas (only had girls)
Martha Suzanna (Faas) Wagenmaker
Susan (Faas) Van der Linde
Daniel Faas (never had children)
Janneke (Faas) Michielsen
