I was born a Fabela - looking for relatives

I was born in Los Angeles, CA in the 60's and my name at birth was Ruth Fabela. I do not know my biological parents or very much about them because adoptions were extremely confidential in those days. My guess is that today my mother has a new last name. However, it is possible that I may have an Uncle who has children (cousins) named Fabela who might see this message. The strange thing is, is that some Fabela out there may be related to me and not even know it because my existence may be a family secret.

If any of this rings a bell please write back: My mother was 18 when I was born, she was 5'4" and weighed 115 pounds, she was of Mexican decent and was not married to my father, she worked as a secretary.

Thank you and hope to hear from you.

I'd like to find out more information about a Fabela from Durango
Mexico. My grandfather, Encarnacion, grew up in Durango in the late 1800s and early 1900s and later moved to
to Puebla and after that moved to Rio Blanco
and Orizaba.

He had 8 brothers and sisters, one of
whom was named Angel and lived in Mexico
City.

We've been told that there are some relatives
in the U.S. living in California.

The parents were named Ignacio Pena Garcia and
Maria Fabela Monterrosas. All I know about
Maria is that she was born in 1878 and died in 1904.

Would like to learn more about both of them
if possible.

Thanks,

Mark Contreras
newsmex@aol.com

Fabela Genealogy

I am looking for any information on the Fabela families of La Cruces, New Mexico. I have a Lazaro Fabela married to Rafaela or Refugio Lauzarin and cannot find a thing on them. They had three daughters that we know of: Francisca, Juana, and Maria Aurelia. Maria Aurelia was born 14 jun 1893 in Cuencame, Durango, Mexico and died 13 jan 1980 in Las Cruces. She married Jose Santiago Sierra 12 nov 1910.
Any new information would be appreciated. I am willing to trade information for information; since I have access to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City Utah. Contact me at kwbaker5@juno.com
