I think I have the connection. I found it in an autobiography of William's daughter Barbara. She and her brother Martin came in early 1880 to work for their aunt and uncle in Ohio. Unfortunately she didn't write their names. If you have any birth information on your oldest Faber ancestor I should be be able to find out from a researcher in Germany if they are related.
