I am hoping to correspond with descendants of
Johannes (John Faber). He emmigrated to America in 1847 and settled land near Dacada,
Wisconson. His sons Hienrich, Henry, and his
Daughter Anna Maria Gasper stayed in the area
I believe that Johannes died in Victoria, Tx.
A land tranfer to his daughter and her husband puts him in Texas. His grandson, Harry Jr. Faber went to Jones County, Iowa.
A son (John) from his first marriage to Eva
Zimmer, in Canach, Lux. settled in Cascade, Iowa. (Hienrich was also from this marriage.)
His second marriage to Catherina Kapper
produced Henry, Mathias (my great grandfather
and Anna. Mathias homesteaded in Stearns Co., Minnesota. He married Mary Simon and
had a family. Six children survived. The
first born (Nicholas Faber) married Margaret
Molitor and became my grandparents. Nick
homesteaded in what is now Hill Co.Montana.
S. of Havre, Montana. I am the 3rd generation owner/operator of that land.
(homesteaded in 1892. Looking forward to
hearing from you Jim Faber

I need assistance in solving a mystery that has been in my family for years. Is there any Faber out there who knows what ship and what port Augusta Faber and her children George, Ernst, Mary, Bertha and Frederick Benjamin Herman Faber landed at between 1869-1871? I cannot find any passenger list or information on any web site. The only information I do have is a debate between my Great Aunt Bertha who said they landed at New Orleans and my Grandmother Johanna states they landed at Galveston. The only other information that I have is that Augusta came alone with the children and left without Frederick Sr . I do not know why? Can anyone help?

Faber / Thiel Family in Chicago IL

Working on some family history (Reim / Dreger) I found a batch of family friends. Many go unmarked, but those with names I’m tossing out into the universe. I have copies to share, I consider it good genealogy karma.
On this note I have pictures of a Thiel family. I have a Della Faber Thiel, married (husband’s name uncertain) and a son Russell Berdex. Possibly also a daughter Lucille? Russell later married Char and had a daughter named Sue.

I also have pictures of Della’s brother, Herman and his wife.

They Thiel family lived in Chicago, IL in the 1910-20’s. They would have been friends with a Christine Reim Dreger.
