Family History

I would like to know more about my heritage. My mother (Ada Marie Maturin) from Iberia Parish was married to my father E.A. Fabre. They divorced when I was an infant. My name is Geraldine Marie (Fabre) Hartstack. I was born in Lafayette, La., in 1947. My grandfather's name was Joseph/Joe Fabre his wife was Hortense (Broussard) Fabre, both are deceased. I believed they lived in and around the New Iberia, Youngsville, La., area. My Mother's parents were Villier Maturin and Cynthia (Gary) Maturin. My grandfather WIllier was a soldier in World War 1. When he returned from Europe, I believe he became a "sharecropper".They also lived in and around New Iberia. They are also deceased. I really don't know much about the "Fabre" or the "Maturin" family. I do know that my great-great-great grandfather (Fabre) came from France. My grandmother Hortenseis from Brousard. I would really like to know more about my heritage. I would appreciate your help. Thank you!

I don't know if you knew but Floyd passed away in 2001. He was my cousin, related thru the Fabre/St Amand family. He did alot of research on Fabre/St Amant/Hotard families.
My grandmother Agnes and his mother Anna were sisters.

Fabre dit Larosée and Tremblay

I am looking for any information you might have on the marriage details between Anglique Julie Fabré dit Larosée and Jean-Baptiste Leon Tremblay. They lived in Glenngarry, Ontario and I believe married about 1852. They may have married in Massena NY where Leon was born but had not lived in quite some time.
Angelique died between 1863 and 1866. Again, I believe in Glengarry but I have not been able to find any mention of her death at the Archives of Ontario.

The spellings I have found for Leon Tremblay include Tromblay, Tremble, Tremblee and so on.

Any help would be most appreciated.

My family name is Fabre. According to my gran, who was born on the island of Mauritius, her family went from France to the island in search of 'new land' for the children. They then relocated to South Africa.
If anyone has more info on 'southern hemisphere' Fabres it would be good to hear about!

Rosa Fabre

Seeking info on Rosa Fabre

According to her 2 obits:
Rosa was born in 1809 in Lafourche, Assumption Parish. Her father was George Fabre deTarde (I'm not sure what the "deTarde" refers to). Her husband was Joseph Danove. They moved to New Orleans in October 1844, after her father sold their plantation. Three children survived her - Mrs. Thomas Froeba, Angel/Angele/Angelicia Danove Marx and Dominique C. Danove. She died 2/10/1908. (I have copies of both of her obits, one of which has her picture and touts her as "New Orleans' oldest white woman".)

According to the 1800 LA census:
Rosa was born in 1816. She was living with her son in law, Adolph Marx, her Daughter Angel and their 7 children.

All info (with the exception of Rosa's age) in the census, names, ages, birth places, occupations, etc. agrees with info that I have accumulated from other sources.

Any info appreciated. Willing to share what I have.

I am searching for any knowledge on Jerome Fabre. The only info that I have is: He is my mother's (birth name: Geraldine Elizabeth Price) biological father. He lived in the blair county area of pennsylvania around sometime around 1924. All I know is he and my grandmother (Geneva Price) were seeing each other and he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He left to go back to Canada (that is what I've been told, also been told he never left blair county) in November 1924. If anyone knows any information please let me know. Thank you.
