My great-grandmother, SADIE FABRICANT Udashkin (Shayna Gutte bas r. Shimon), along with her mother and several young children, immigrated to Montreal, Canada in the early 1920s to join her husband, BERYL UDASHKIN, and her eldest child [my grandfather], both of whom had preceded her and the others to North America. The family came from the Bielica (Belitzieh) area of GOMEL in Belarus. At the time of her death in Montreal, in January 1948, Sadie had three brothers and two sisters living in the United States: HARRY FABRICANT, DAVID FABRICANT and MRS. TILLIE LEFCOE lived in the New York area; LOUIS FABRICANT lived in Cleveland; and MRS. S. BERLIN lived in Detroit. Assuming that they all had the same father as Sadie, his Hebrew name would have been Shimon.
Sadie's mother, BRUCHE FABRICANT (Bruche bas r. Eliezer) died in Montreal in April 1923.
The recent deaths of our parents has prompted my sister and me to focus seriously on filling in gaps in our family tree information and trying to identify certain individuals on old family photographs.
Can anyone provide information on our great-grandmother’s brothers and sisters and their descendants?
