Hi! My husband´s name is Marco Fabricius. Before I married him I searched after the meaning of his surname ;-)
In Humanism (14.-16. Century, Renaissance) a lot of German names changed in Latin. FABRICIUS is the Latin word of Schmied or Schmidt (German surnames).
The ancestors of my husband came from Herda in Germany.
