I am looking for information on the Fabrique family of Newtown, CT. A Mary Fabrique married Collins Chapman and is listed in Newtown records. They are my ancestors, and I have been able to find little about her but her name. Thank you for any help you can provide.

It certainly is possible that Smith Wellman belongs to this line. Smith is a surname that does figure in to my line with the Fabrique's. Pam Robinson

I do have info on Mary Fabrique (Fabreque) who married Collins Chapman. A document dated March 30th, 1785 and believed to be written by Bartimeas Fabrique gives an account of the family of John Fabreque who died May 11th, 1782. Mary is described as the first daughter born to John and Debory Booth. Bartimeas was the 7th son born to John and Debory. I have about dozen pages from the Rodenbach papers that would give you info on Mary, her siblings, and a brief paragraph about her marriages. Only one of her children is identified by name. Let me know how you would like to have the info sent to you.

Found a carbon copy of the Rodenbach work in the Salt Lake Library. Mr. Rodenbach divided his work into 15 sections which the library has bound into 6 volumes. The Forward written about the Fabrique Family is dated April 20, 1923.
I was able to photocopy several hundred pages covering the Fabrique data that Mr. Rodenbach compiled beginning with John Fabrique of Newtown who died May 11, 1782. His work includes persons born in the 1920's, some written in by hand.

I am related to this family threw her brother Grant Clayton, I am working on putting a detailed book together for my family, I would be more than happy to trade photos, althought I have only those two and one of her with her grandson Ted Clark when he was small, this is very important to my self and my family and any pictures of MaryEllen and William would be a great blessing , I would gladly pay for the costs of the pictures to be copied, I have put alot of time and effort into compiling this detailed book about my family so that I can pass it along to future generations and any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a copy of a letter written to my mother from her great-aunt concerning Fabrique history. It includes two pages of information that appear to be an account of John Fabrique's family of Newtown, written by Bartimeas second, brother to John Jr. who married Jannat Beers.
The great-aunt mentions: "In 1922, a man from Chicago whose mother was a Fabrique, started to get out a genealogy. He worked on it for two years, and got a record of the families down through my generation. He didn't seem to have the means to publish it, but had several manuscripts mad up for his near relatives, and said he would leae a copy in the library in chicago. We lost trak of him and I wrote back to both libaries but they had no record of it. Charles Fabrique helped him on it." Have you seen or heard of such a manuscript? If so I would be interested in it.
Also, please tell me how I might be able to see the Hinsdale book. Thank you,

Laura (b.2 Feb. 1814 German Flats, Herkimer, NY) was a daughter of Lewis Catharina (Diefendorf/Devendorf) Fabrique. Laura married Willard WELLMAN (b.c.1811 VT; d.after 1850) They had six children:
1) Elvira Wellman (b.c.1834 PA)
2) Eliza J. Wellman (b. c.1836 PA)
3) S. W. Wellman (b.c.1840 PA)
4) S.R. Wellman (b.c.1842 PA)
5) Mary Wellman (b.c.1845 PA)
6) Merilla Wellman (b. c.1847 PA)

Would appreciate hearing from any descendant.

Andrew Fabrique (b.1811 Minden Twp., Montgomery Co., NY; d.after 1888 Clinton, Lenawee, MI) was a son of Lewis Fabrique (b. c.1763 Fairfield Co., CT Catharina Diefendorf/Devendorf). Andrew married Betsey Deck (b.NY; d.1839 NY). They had two children I know of:
1) John Fabrique (b.c.1835 Herkimer Co., NY)
2) Mary C. Fabrique (b. 13 Sept. 1836 Herkimer Co., NY; d. after 1888 Clinton, Lenawee, MI). She married Chancy R. FULLER.

After Betsey died Andrew married Cynthia ___.
She was born c.1823NY. They had 2 children I know of:
1) Arvilla Fabrique (b.c.1842 NY)
2) Oscar Fabrique (b.1849 Washington, Erie, PA).

Sharon, I just purchased an upgrade to my
FamilyTreemaker program to version 7.0 and
received a free 2-month subscription to their
library section of their website. I think
the upgrade was well worth the $29. for that,
alone -- plus there are some good features,
such as a "clickable" map that prints up a
timeline of all your ancestors who were born
in the same general area (any area you choose),
and several other new and improved features.
I think most big libraries have a copy of that
book. By the way, your message was most
interesting, but I have never heard of the
manuscript. What a treasure that would be to
stumble across. Hopefully, his relatives were
thoughtful enough to donate them to libraries
if they didn't want to keep them in their families.

Thanks for your message! I have seen the Hinsdale
genealogy book through Family Treemaker's library
site. It's nice to hear from someone who is also
a Fabrique descendant. I was beginning to think I
was part of a vanishing breed! I didn't review my
original note I posted, but I descend the same line
as far as John and Anna "Janat" (Beers) Fabrique, then
from one of their sons. My great-great-grandmother,
Mary "Polly" Fabrique was the last of her line when she
married Thomas Paine Smith. Thanks, again!

Ely ~ William Henry Laura Hanneuse (my mother's parents). Lucille, the sister of Dudly Albert is the author of the notes given to my mother.

They had at least five children: John(c.1730); Mary (1732);
James;and Abraham (c.1736; marr. Mercy Mallet) Elizabeth (1738)
who married Isaac Prindle of Newtown, CT.
Generation #3: John (c.1730)married Anna "Janat" Beers
had 5 known children: Huldah (c.1756) who married Nathan
Peck had 8 children; John; Martha; Lewis (c.1765);
Phebe Andrew (born 17 Dec. 1779 Fairfield, CT).
Generation #3: Lewis (c.1765) married Catharina Diefendorf/Devendorf
had about 9 children:
1. Elizabeth (b.1783;d.1865 Montgomery Co., NY); married Henry Gros
had 3 children.)
2. John (married Harriet _____.)
3. Anna (married Daniel Piper)
4. Mary "Polly" (b.1802 German Flats, Herkimer, NY; married 1825 there
to Thomas Paine Smith had 3 children)
5. Lewis (christened 24 June 1804 Minden, Montgomery, NY). This is probably
the Lewis Fabrique who married Charity Patten.
6. Andrew (christened 27 Jan. 1811 at Minden Twp.; married 1st to Betsey Deck
who died in 1839 and 2nd to Cynthia _____.) One known daughter, Mary C. Fabrique
(b.1836, whose married name was Fuller.)
7. Laura Almira (b.22 March 1814 German Flatts, NY; appeared in 1850 census for
Washington, Erie Co., NY) married Willard Wellman.
Any possible connection to this family line is very appreciated!!! There should be
