Looking for anyone with relatives buried in the Fackler Grove Cemetery in Big Grove Township, Johnson County, IA. Supposedly this cemetery has been abandoned so am interested in finding descendants of those buried there who might want to try to "ressurect" the cemetery. I am the great-great granddaughter of Frederic and Elizabeth Vornholt who are buried there (along with their son, William, my great-grandfather).

Also, looking for Nadine Allen who posted info on Valentine Fackler on this list back in 2000 but whose email address no longer works. Valentine and Frederic (along with Rudolf Statser) are on the same census page in 1850. Some Statser's are also buried at Fackler Grove Cemetery.

Carrie (Fackler) Lauk

All I know of right now is that she was the sister of my Grandmother, Mary Evelyn (Eva) (Fackler) Tibbs and the sister of Oliver George Fackler. I know that in 1920 she and George, both, died in the flu epidemic, leaving 5 children. And that Uncle Oliver went to Minn. to get the bodies and find homes ofr the children. 3 of the kids, Elizebeth, George, and Gladys were adopted by the Hopper family and took their name. The others kept the Lauk name. All I have besides that is a list of the childrens names and who they married but nothing else. I'm trying to get more info. on the Fackler side of the family to learn more about the family. My mother is Hattie Evelyn (Tibbs) Stukins, Mary(Fackler) Tibbs daughter. When we got a copy of the Tibbs Family tree there wasn't hardly anything in it about the Fackler's except for a few lists and a few pictures. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated. I'm planning on starting a web site for all the family trees I'm working on (I have 5 going). You can reach me at:ojsjr1993@yahoo.com. Thank you for all your help, and look forward to hearing from you real soon. Take care!!

My grandmother was Mary Evelyn (Eva) (Fackler) Tibbs. She was Oliver's sister. When we recieved a copy of the Tibbs family tree from a relative it didn't really have much about the Fackler side of the family other than a very scanty list of Uncle Oliver's children and a few pictures. If anyone can give me any info. to help me fill out the Fackler side of the family I sure would appreciate it. I have been working on all my family trees (which I have 5) and any help would deeply be appreciated. My mother is Hattie Evelyn (Tibbs) Stukins, and she tells me what she can remember, but as I told everyone any and all information would really be appreciated. I'm going to start a site for each tree so anyone with info. can just add it to the site, but you can e-mail it to: ojsjr1993@yahoo.com. Thank you for all your help and look forward to hearing from you real soon. Thank you, again!!

fackler family

Nadine; your research does not fit (or conflict) with my infomation, because what I have told you is all I have with respect to my immediate family (I go back to my grandfather-Henderson Fackler) and that's it. However, what I have been trying to do is find information on the facklers in general. It is interesting that none of my immediate family shows up anywhere. I checked theinfomation you gave on Mary Ann Fackler with hhtp://worldconnect.rootsweb.com (do not use www. when you enter the address) and found a Mary Ann Fackler in IA born about the time you mention, but the county is differet. Check it out. Also in that data base is listed a Michael Fackler born in 1740 in Pennsylvania which is the oldest source I can fine. If you check out that data base you will find lots of interesting stuff. What I am trying to find is links to the two best sources of geneolgy in the world which are in Salt Lake City (Morom records) and in Cleveland,Ohio. So far I have not been able to find an internet link, however I just started this project about a week ago. Do you live in Iowa? Keep in touch. Bob
