Hi, I am Mitch Fade, I am a relative of yours who lives in Seattle, Washington. My grandmother used to talk about the Fade hotel. My great grandfather was Luther Fade who moved to Imperial valley and then to Pensacola, Florida. I have traced our family history to John Fade who moved here in the 1700's and enlisted in the revolutionary army. He then moved to Mississippi and married and had seven children. John Fade died in 1833. He had a son "John Heath Fade" who was born in 1815. John Heath Fade had a son John Fade III who was the father of my Great Grandfather, Luther Fade lived in Breckenridge TX. My Grandfather, William J Fade, lived in Bishop California and moved to Pensacola Floria as a Navy Pilot. My Father Richard Fade was born in Pensacola and now lives in Seattle Washington. I hope this can be some use to you.

Hello!
I'm researching the Fade line of my family tree and noticed that you had asked about an Oscar or Elmer Fade.
My grandfather's father's name was Oscar Elmer Fade, b. 13 Oct 1889.
I believe he was married twice, first to Rosa Anna (aka Rosie Ella) Davis, and second to Eula L. Jones. By Rosa he had at least 4 children. By Eula, he had one child, Carl Morris Fade, in 1917.
Do you know where and when Oscar Elmer Fade died and is buried? Eula is listed as a widow on the 1920 census with Carl. Did Oscar die in WWI?

FAID FAED FADE Greenock,Scotland and Durham, England

Just started researching Faid family for a friend.
She has Letitia b 1901 Greenock Scotland (She married a MacGibbon)
Her father Robert b 1867 (m Mary Maargaret Beck in Greenock).
His father John (b 1842 Durham Northumberland UK) married Sarah Jones.
John's father Robert b 1806 (possibly a chemist) may have married twice. Agness or Alice and then Jane Young (nee Carter).

In the 1880 census it is recorded that the father of John H. Fade is John Fade born in England. My record says before 1792. His mother was born about 1776 in Ohio. Name for her. My family line comes through Elizabeth Blenda Stephens. I have not found any other information except my family records had his name as John Heith also. Good Luck. estes7

I'm researching my husband's family, descended from John Breckenridge FADE of Stephens Co., Texas, born sometime around 1870. I believe John's father was John Heath FADE, mother Elizabeth. Any relevant information you have would be greatly appreciated!

I checked the relationship calculator feature on my genealogy software and can tell you that we are "3rd Cousins once removed." Your John Breckendridge Fade was the first of 3 children born to John H Fade and his second wife, Elizabeth Riff. My Willis Edward Fade was the seventh child born to John H Fade and his first wife, Elizabeth Joanna Thetford. Making them half-brothers. I am trying to reach Wayne Fade. He used to live on Cedar Creek Lake, Gun Barrel City, Texas. He was stationed for quite a while in Panama, I believe and was an avid rock polisher.

If you could please pass on to him that Ed Terrell (Pampa, Tx, Tank Commander WWII ETO 1944) passed away last Friday, May 20, 2005 (his 82nd birthday) and was buried in Mabank, Texas yesterday morning (May 25, 2005).

He can email me if he would like more info. I'm sorry we weren't able to contact him before the funeral.

i dont know if ur still using this site by my dad was also born in islington tho the family moved around a lot and ended up in somerset after the war...i think ur grandad was my grandads brother....if ur still using this site please get back to me and i can give u more info on this side of the family ....thanx.

My records show John (Heith/Heath) Fade, b 8 May 1815, OH; d 10 May 1892; buried De Leon Cem, Comanche Co, TX. He married (2) Mrs Elizabeth (Riff) Dewise, 16 Feb 1860, Clark Co,Ark. Their daughter, Margaret Ellen Fade, b 29 Jul 1866, TX; d 1 Mar 1962, AZ. She married John Greenberry Stephens, 24 Dec 1882, Comanche Co, TX.

I show 4 children: Minnie Alice, b 14 Feb 1884; Epsie Abigail, b 26 Sep 1885; Elizabeth Belinda, b 2 Dec 1887; & Samuel, b Oct 1890. All born in TX.

They were in Val Verde Co, TX in the 1900 census (ED# 74, p39b, #818-843).

I have quite alot of information about my line of the Fade family too much to enter I would like to share with any Fade who know their line comes from England My late father still has 3 brothers still alive maybe we could help each other out I have 3 brothers carring on our line.

My maternal grandmother was a Fade. I can't tell you for certain where the name originated, although I'm inclined to think my line came from somewhere in the UK, probably England. I can trace my Fade line back to John who fought in the Revolutionary War. I suspect that John had at least 2, if not 3, families. In the 1880 census, his son said his father had been born in England and his mother in Pennsylvania. Your Arabian connection is new information to me. By any chance does the name Oscar &/or Elmer kick up in your Mexico Fade's?

so, my grandfathers name is also Jorge Fade and he currently lives in Mexico City (i dont speak to him) he married Rosa Alcocer and they had 7 sons and 2 daughters. all born in mexico and all alive, with the exception of my grandmother and father. Apparently my greatgrandfather migrated to mexico with his newborn son, and died shortly; after leaving my grandfather with no blood family in Mexico city. I think he migrated from Arabia.....but not sure. I have never met another Fade either here in the US or in Mexico city.

I have more questions than answers regarding the Fade's of Mexico and would like to learn more (I have a theory on one branch of the family, but nothing more). Anything you might be able to add on your family might very well be of great help.

I have found 2 bits of information that are applicable to the Fade family of Mexico.

First, from the California Death Records:

I too am a FADE, but from Mexico. my grandfather "jorge fade" was raised in Mexico, but i believe he was originally born in Arabia or something. sounds like you fades are from the other side of the world. I have never met anyone else with the same last name.

Your John Breckenridge Fade was half-brother to my Willis Edward Fade. Their father was John H (Heath?) Fade. I don't have any information on the ancestry of his wives, but I do have information on many of his children by these wives. John H Fade was born in Ohio; married both wives in Clark Co,ARK; he died in DeSoto, Comanche Co, TX. His father, John Fade, was a Revolutionary soldier in the PA line.
