I have just found a photocopy of a letter to my great-grandfather Johann Georg Faerber (Ferber). It was written by Mrs. Nikolaus Flyn, first name Marie. It was mailed in Frankfurt on September 9, 1922. Marie was the daughter of Lottie Faerber, sister of Georg. In the letter she states that times were very difficult in the recession and she asked for help from her American relations. Lottie (married name unknown) was living in the village of Himbach, where I believe the Georg came from also. This letter had been missing for 25 years. I would deeply love to have contact with Marie's descendants. I know my grandparents sent a few packages to Germany, but then all contact stopped. What happened to Lottie and Marie? Marie mentions brothers and sisters living in the country, but no names.
Georg was living near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and many of his descendants still live there, including me. Does any of this sound familiar? His wife was Elisabeth Roesch, location in Germany unknown.
I would love advice of how to track down information on currently living relatives.
