Hi Bill,
You are the best! I have been so rediculously busy with the kids and have had lapses of no computer working, etc. My list of priorities just didn't allow for genealogy. We remodeled a bunch more times, which means my life in boxes - and not being able to find any addresses, numbers, etc. Please forgive my general unorganization these past couple YEARS!
I have not done any genealogy, but would like to get back on track for 2004. I have a home office now! Yipee!

Hi, My ancestors are from France in the 1850's and before. They settled in Saone et Loire, and before they had come from Holland. Working Farmer class

There was only 1 Fagothey family in San Francisco. They were Jean Baptiste Fagothey and his wife, Gabrielle Francois Allois Fagothey. They had seven children. Fagothij is Dutch spelling of Fagothey

Fagothij immigrated from Holland to the Loire Valley in France before immigrating to California 2 generations later.

My ancestors came to Louisiana in the 1750s. The last name was spelled Fagot, and they were from Voiron, France. I have also found the name in the Alsace-Lorraine area. As an historian, I know that surnames can change in a 500 year span. Some of my cousins in Nicaragua spelled their last name Fagoth. Any clues as to area of origin?
