I have been doing family tree research for my fiancee's family. Her great-grandparents were Failla's from Castelbuono. Antonio Failla, born about 1872 in Castelbuono, emigrated to the U.S. and seems to have met and married Antonia. I don't know her maiden name, but think it may be Abbate. I could very well be wrong about that. They had 3 sons: Joseph, Michele, and Louis. Louis was born on July 26, 1905 in Philadelphia and died in September 1986 in Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island.
Antonio and Antonia actually went back to Castelbuono around the time Louis was 4. He came back as an adult and had been living in Castelbuono. I don't have any dates for Joseph or Michele, or know whether or not they were born in the U.S. I sort-of doubt it. Do you think this family could be a connection?
