Looking for some information on my ancestry. My grandfather Calogero Failla came alone at 14 yrs old from Alcamo/Palermo Sicily in 1913 to Ellis Island to meet with his cousin Francesco. His father in Italy was also named Francesco. I believe he had a mother and a number of other siblings that he left behind in Italy. He married Giovanna Barone, my grandmother. I believe the Failla and Barone families knew each other in Sicily. My great uncle did some research many years ago on our family tree and I remember him mentioning that we had a Baron in our family tree and there was also mention of French lineage.
