I am doing a project on the more obscure 'participates', such as Elizabeth Faine among others in the Salem Witch Trials. What I am interested in is family backgrounds, occupations, and theories @ why this particular person was involved.
Thanks
Barbara
Salemwitchesdatabase@yahoo.com

Mary Breedly Faine

I find it interesting that you should mention what part Cherokee that you are, because I two am 1/16 Cherokee from my grandfathers side, who was a Faine. But we are Africian American also. I'm told that his father came to Oklahoma from New Orleans, La. so, I don't know if your ggggrandmother could possibly be the sister to my ggrandfather or not.

I don't know anything about the Faine's in our family. Mary Breedly Faine was a ggggrandmother. Her
father,s name was Male Faine. Right now this is the only information I have. Please contact me if you learn of anything. I have only been doing my family's history for about a year; so I have a lot more to learn about my family. It might interest you that I am 1/16 Cherokee possible more.

Faine's

Bob, I to am looking for my Faine ancestor, I don't know if we are kin, but My grandfather, from what I'm told came to Oklahoma from Louisana with his father. What really caught my attention with your message was the fact that my grandfather married a women by the name of Lizzie (my grandmother) but she was a Douglas by birth. We are a black family. I am told that Faine's are French Indians. A few years ago after the death of my father, I was in a deparment store here in Oklahoma and someone came over the intercom calling for a Mr. Faine. well, you can imagne how I must have felt just recently burring my father after the second page I inquired as to who this person was and someone pointed him out to me, so I then walk over to him a introduced myself he was not of Africian decent, so I told him my family must have been the property of his family, we smiled. He did tell me his family were French Indians and that his sister was doing a family tree, I don't know how it came out because that store close down and I can't find the information he gave me that day.
