The FERNEBANK/FAIRBANK
(FEARNEBANK / FEARNEBANE) Family
of C17th Elkesley, Notts.
Family name possibly derived from a local place name (FAIRBANK) or fair children (FAIRBAIRN)
This family was present in the village of Elkesley, North Notts. in C17th England.
Elizabeth FERNEBANK married into my BRADLEY family by marrying Thomas BRADLEY on 11.2.1650. Thomas BRADLEY was buried in 1680 leaving no will.
Elizabeth's parents could be Edward and possibly Jane or Anne. The only FERNEBANK in the Elkesley Register and BT’s was "-ne" FERNEBANK w/o Edward buried 27.10.1626 (?Anne). They appear to have come from another parish.Edward FEEREBANKE = Issabell BURDUN m. 14.2.1626/27 at Walesby
Edward FEERBANKE = Alice LUND m. 29.4.1673 at WalesbyNo baptisms of FERNEBANK or variants at Walesby 1626-34, nor Elston, Elston Chapel, Elton parish in same period. Family origins remain unlocated.
Possible Nottinghamshire family references (marriages):
FAYRBANK Thomas = HARISON Elizabeth (E. Markham 25.7.1603)
FAYRBANKS William = SMITH Alice (Wellow 29.9.1674)
FEARBANC Richard = HOOSON Ann (Bothamsall 2.2.1595/6)
FEARBANK Richard = NETTLESHIP Francis (W. Retford 30.7.1631)
I am seeking contacts with anyone with C17th FERNEBANK/FAIRBANK or variant references in the surrounding area.
