Hi Chris- from Lorraine Neate
Sorry about the delayed response.I presume that you have George's description from the convict indent and you have searched the surgeons journals. His "felony" was stealing lead. His first assignment was to a James Spearing at "Paulsgrove" (a property near present day Wollongong)as a shoemaker . I published my book about the property and its residents in October last year.George had grown a couple of inches by the time he received his certificate of freedom in 1832. I did have 5 children recorded for his marriage to Mary Smith. my email is kenneate@ihug.com.au
