The IGI lists the birth of Dorothy Fairfax, parents Ferdinando Fairfax and Mary Edmond, in Kent, England, in 1652. The informant was an "in-law", possibly a descendant of Sir William Foster of Bamburgh Castle. Can anyone confirm this information? Also, there was a 17th century marriage of a Fairfax or Fairfax descendant in England to a Moresby, possibly Rev. John M., which resulted in the Moresby family naming some male children in almost every generation from 1712 on "Fairfax Moresby"--and giving some female children the middle name of Fairfax. Any information about this will be welcomed.
