Judith Pierce m. Nathaniel FAIRFIELD

Trying to prove that Judith Pierce, daughter of John Pierce and Ruth Hilton, born in Gloucester, Essex Co., MA, on 10 Dec 1732 is the "Judith Perse" who married Nathaniel FAIRFIELD on 6 May 1752 at Westfield, Hampshire Co., MA. This Judith, who married Nathaniel, died in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., MA, on 3 Dec 1775, "age 42" which is a match for age with the Judith that's the daughter of John and Ruth. Two of Judith's 9 children are named John and Ruth. Is there any evidence to the contrary that this Judith married someone else or died without marrying. Can't located death/burial or will/probate for John Pierce or his wife, Ruth Hilton.

They settled in Beaver Dam, WI and Chickasaw Co., IA. As an adult he changed his name to:
GEORGE A. FAIRFIELD (sometimes called Gustave Fairfield and aka : G. A. Fairfield). He married about 1890 to HARRIET RUSSEL(L) who was born 1869 in WI. There are two women in the SSDI Mabel E. Fairfield and Martha M. Fairfield that are probably their spouses. Does anyone know which one is married to which son and if either couple had children? I'm seeking the death and burial information for George A. and Harriet as well.

Sorry you were not able to contact me: now have new e-mail address.
I am interested in Henry FAIRFIELD born about 1850 but not known where; have assumed Ireland because he and his wife Lucia (nee WARHURST) don't appear in any English census, or any official death records. They had a daughter Lucia Warhurst FAIRFIELD in Liverpool in April 1878 and two sons a few years later. The family seemed to shred about 1905 - sons dropping names etc. Would very much like to know more about Henry and his family. I do not think he is the same Henry who was a school teacher in the Liverpool area in the 1860s - dates are wrong.

William FAIRFIELD -- Abigail BAKER

I too am a descendant of William Fairfield, United Empire Loyalist and his wife Abigail Baker. See the book "United Empire Loyalists" by N.&H. Mika -p.167-8-Ernestown Twp. The second township was named after Prince Ernest, 8th child of King George III. It was surveyed by Deputy Surveyor-Gen. Collins in Nov. 1783, and comprised 6 sq. miles of land situated on the north side of Lake Ontario. It was settled in 1784 by 434 Loyalists of Jessup's Rangers. see Fitzgerald's Loyalist Lists- p. 237-#1649 " William Fairfield from Vermont Farmer Own Lands" On the shore of Lake Ontario developed the village of Bath. The first library and grammar school in UC were opened here in 1811. The first steamship on Lake Ontario, the FRONTENAC, was built in Finkle's shipyard in Bath. The Loyalist Trail (also called the Bath Road) was established between Bath and Kingston. On this road still stands the house built by Loyalist Captain Jeptha Hawley in 1785. Captain Hawley had joined the Royal Standard in 1776 and settled in Ernestown in 1784. In 1791, St. John's Church was erected on land donated by William Fairfield Sr. who with his wife Abigail Baker, had come to Canada in 1778. In 1793 Fairfield built a commodious house which was named "The White House" It is located on Highway 33, about ten miles west of Kingston. This house was occupied by the family for six generations and is one of the province's few remaining 18th century Loyalist residences. It was recently (1976) acquired (through donation by a family member) by the government for preservation.((Muriel's note: It is open to the public in the summer months.)) Among the earliest settlers were; Capt. Fraser, Capt. Myers, Lt. Dusenbury, Lt. Bert, Corp. Charles, Corp. Shipley, D. Dulmage, H. Conkright, Jeptha Hawley, Henry Davey, John Lindsay, John Conklin, Lt. Robins, St. Williams, Lt. Best, John Snider, James Huffman, Lt. Parrot, M. Crankshaw, Sgt. Taylor, R. Clark, M. Rose, T. Kerr, John Asselstine, S. Ball, J. Booth, T. Fraser, J. Hoffman, A. Miller, W. Perry , D. Rose, and Marcus Snyder. see photo p.169 of "The White House" built in 1793 by Loyalist William Fairfield, Sr., located on highway 33, west of Kingston.

Fairfield DNA surname project

Dear Fairfield descendants and researchers:

Prompted partly by the request of three descendants of William Fairfield the Loyalist to add their data to the Descendants of John Fairfield of Wenham, MA, Web site, I have established a DNA surname project at a respected lab in Texas. The 12-marker Y chromosome DNA test is a surefire way to establish physical relationship between Fairfield descendants up to about 16 generations.

Because the Y chromosome is passed on by males to males, ONLY MALES CAN PARTICIPATE (surname Fairfield). I encourage any and all of you male Fairfields to purchase a kit and participate in the project. WE NEED SEVERAL MALE PARTICIPANTS FROM A VARIETY OF BRANCHES TO ESTABLISH A GOOD COMPARATIVE DNA MARKER.

You can learn more about the DNA surname project through a link on the Fairfield Web site home page (www.fairfieldfamily.com), or just go straight to the lab URL: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/fairfield/#surnames
I'm from the UK - my father and grandfather researched into the very early origins of Fairfield - they say it originates from a party landing in Romney Marsh, England, in the 14th century.

I'm also curious to see a number of Edmund James Fairfields! I thought I may be the only.

If anyone has any comments, or has heard of me through records, I'd be happy and interested to hear from you - this is my first research into my Ancestry - intriguing :-)

Looking for any information on Malcom Fairfield and Martha Ann Fairfield Davis or their ancestors or descendants. The only information I have is from the 1870 Federal Census, Alameda County, California, Washington Township. Malcom is listed with the family of Hiram Davis and wife Martha Fairfield Davis. I assume he is Martha's brother from looking at the age. They are a year apart and both born in Oakland County, Michigan according to the census. Martha is my gr-gr-grandmother. She died in 1882 in Irvington, CA. I can't seem to find any other record of Malcom or Martha.

Hi board members! I just read my last posting and realized that I left out one important member, my maternal grandmother. She was Jennie Belle Taber b.18 Nov 1893 in Alliance, Box Butte, Nebraska; d.13 Dec 1988 in Walla-Walla, WA; m1.Andrew Christian Jensen, m2.William "Bill" Noble. She lived in California for many years with her daughter Lucile. She went to the Conservatory of Music on scholarship and she has told me her mother told her stories of coming across the plains in a horse and buggy (I was asking if she had heard any stories about coming across the praries in covered wagons at the time). She did not say where she came from and I an having a hard time getting hold of the address to write to to get it. I hope this helps someone in their genealogy. Diana.
