Thanks for making contact. I'm via James' elder Alexander who came to Australia around 1850. I can invite you into my Ancestry Tree to check out this side of my family. Let me know.

I'll have a look at the Roots site. By the way I may have some inaccuracies beyond Alexander, the elder, I have had to infer in some cases as William & Alexander Fairweather seem common names in Angus around 1700-1800s. I did visit Scotland back in 2007 and found some interesting bits at the Archives about the family. A visit to Glamis revealed the family headstone - have you seen it? Plus I indentified the street the family lived on. As well I meet up with a younger woman who was also descended from this family - I need to check through my research to see which brother she was descended from it may be James, as I remember it was a younger brother who went to Dundee to work in retail of some sort. She now lives in Perth.
