Elizabeth,

I'm following the Cox family in Crawford County, IL. Penny Cox Crouch married Jacob Faith. One of their daughters later married Lorenzo Dow Legg.

Penny was not a daughter of my James Cox but may have been his niece. She was the daughter of Sally Cox. She had a brother named Jesse. I think her father was Benjamin or Levi Cox but I'm not sure.

I'd love to share thoughts.

I don't know if the Faith's of Leavenworth are "my" Faith's as I have limited information.
I am looking for Ray Faith. He was in Salina in the 1915 census but was listed in Leavenworth in the earlier census. I thought there was a possibility of a connection as the son of Ray Faith was named Raymond Charles Faith Jr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, Mount Pulaski. Memorials: donor's choice. Mr. Faith was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Warrensburg, the son of Benjamin Baxter and Grace Crosier McBride Faith. He was a retired farm machinery mechanic. He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church and former member, dean and elder of Mount Pulaski Christian Church. He was a founding member of the Land of Lincoln Tractor and Engine Club. He married Ruth Mae Robinson on Nov. 17, 1944, in Lincoln. She preceded him in death. He later married Doris M. Hahn Koehler on July 2, 1977, in Mount Pulaski. Surviving are his wife; son, Robert W. Faith of Decatur; daughters, Mary (Bill) Moore of Dallas, Texas; Susan (Robert) Pope and Lynda Letterle, both of Mount Pulaski; stepchildren, Edward A. (Claire) Koehler of Lincoln; Kathleen (Robert) Emerson of Springfield; brother, Carl (Rita) Faith of Latham; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Would like to know your connection to "Marshall" from the Feeny area. My Grt Grt Grandmaother, b.1839 Maria Marshall married William Reilly m.1857 in the Feeny, Banagher, Drumcovit area. I have also located her sister, a b.1937 Jane Ann Marshall who married an Alexander Jervis in that area. My Reillys later moved North to the Bovevagh area around 1878/80. They had 16/18 children. Here's some information I copied from a book called Faith: A Genealogy, by Loyce Robbins.

Alexander Barrett Faith, born December 15, 1822 in KY. Died April 19, 1900 in Tavara, WI. He had sons named George, Henderson, and John.

Alexander's parents were William Faith and Elizabeth Cook of Nelson Co. KY.

William's parents were John Faith and Nancy Rogers.

Some other particulars are listed also. If this is the family you are seeking, let me know and I will send the rest. I have not verified the information, since there is no apparent relation to my Faith family.

Looking for info on Franklin and Mary (Reason) Faith, from Linwood, Kansas in the late 1800s. Franklin died in 1902, Mary died in 1927; had children Mamie (Faith) Haney, John, Charles and Frank Faith, d. 1908. Mamie married Alonzo B. Haney in late 1880s, both still alive in 1930.

Well I think we have a match. I have that Thomas J. was born in December 1858 in England and married Laura who was born in September 1864 in New Jersey. Their children were 1) Raymond D. born January 1885 and married a Winifred F. ________, born about 1884, 2) George C. born February 1888 and married Florence E. ________, born about 1894, 3) Lydia H. Faith born July 1890 and married Charles G. Mutch born about 1891, 4) Mabel Faith born December 1897.

Thomas J. Faith was the son of Thomas John and Frances Faith and he had nine siblings: Annie Elizabeth, Helen Louisa, Laura Frances, Ernest E. and Jane (these names I am certain of).

What more do you have on George's parents Thomas and Laura? Do you have any information and George's grandparents?

I am located in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. I am married and have two children and I am a kindergarten teacher. This is exciting and I am anxious to hear from you. George C. Faith would be my 1st cousin twice removed.

Mrs. Elizabeth Faith, widow of William Faith, of Rayne township, died on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, aged about 74 years. Her death was due to general debility incident to old age. Her husband died about three years ago and since then she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Gibson, of Rayne township. The following children survive her: Mrs. Harietta Gibson, of Cherryhill; William, of Pittsburg; Jacob, of Vandergrift; Mrs, Anderson Byers and Mrs. John Gibson, of Rayne township. The funeral services were conducted on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock by Rev Strayer and interment followed in the Grove Chapel Lutheran church cemetery.

Thanks so much! My g-grandmother was Lavina Faith, dtr. of Abraham Harrison Faith and Frances C. Myers. Lavina married Lewis Allen Standley. They had 7 children, one of whom was Nora Frances Standley, my grandmother, who married Boston Lafayette Foust; and they had 4 children, one of whom was my father, Standley Damewood Foust. So we're cousins of one sort or another! Can't wait to see what you have. Thanks again.

SPRINGFIELD - Robert M. Faith, 59, of Springfield died Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1946, in Springfield, the son of Evelyn Saunders. He was adopted by Glenn and Emma Kail Faith.

Mr. Faith was a clerk for Kelly Services.

Survivors: two sons, Robert Faith of Henderson, Nev., and Brian (wife, Amber) Lackey of Hinesville, Ga.; daughter, Sherry (husband, Richard) Hahn of Columbus, Ga.; several grandchildren; mother, Evelyn of Edinburg; brother, Mike (wife, Paula) Saunders of Edinburg; sister, Kim Harter of Hurst; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites were accorded by Springfield Crematory.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday, Camp Butler National Cemetery.
