female faivre

Need help from any Faivre family member who can help me find the name of a female Faivre who may have been born abt 1926 in France, was a monitor at the girls school (lycee) in Bordeau France during the mid to late 40's. My mother recalls she loved to draw, may have been studing art, & enjoyed period movies. My mother re-calls she was able to spot any design errors of these period pieces. Is there anyone out there who's mother, or grandmother may have had this talent.

My family line has Josephine Marie or Marie Josephine (Le)Faivre b abt 1811 in France, immigrated to Ohio in the 1830s and died in Ohio, perhaps around 1881. She married Francoise Menuez(y) from Calmoutier, Colombotte, France. Their daughter, Felicite Menuez is my direct lineage. She was born 18 Sep 1850. If this is any help, let me know.

I am researching the Faivre (Faiver) families of Montecheroux, France some of which settle near Louisville, Ohio in the 1830's. I would like to correspond with others who are also researching this family. More information is available at my website http://gatheringleaves.org
Katie,
Can you provide me with more information on your Catherine? I have two Katie Faivre's in my family tree and I have had quite a time finding more info on that side of the family. Julia Faivre is my 2nd Great Grandmother. She was born March 18, 1852, in New Orleans, married Antonino Compagno, and had eight children. According to my research, Julia had a brother named Michael George and a sister named Katie (very possibly a nickname for Catherine). I have been able to find no further data on the descendants of Michael George or Katie, and so the search continues.

Re: Joseph Faiver, married to Rosalie Guthman

My grandmother, Corriene Faiver, was the daughter of Amiel Louis Faiver and granddaughter of Louis Joseph Faiver. His father was Joseph(Frank?) Faiver of Stark County, Ohio. Joseph was born about 1820 and died around 1850 in Stark Co, OH. His wife was Marie Antoinette de La Place from France. Son, Louis J. (DOB 1844) married Virginia Nay, also from France. He's buried in the Dewitt, Clinton Co, Mich Cemetery. I've seen Alphonse's name in the Dewitt, Clinton Co. Marriage records. I haven't established the relationship, because my Joseph only had 3 sons: Frank, Amiel & Ferdinand. Ancestry.com has 5 entries for the children of Josephine Faiver and Louis Gaume from Louisville, OH??? Would be grateful for any more info.

I presently live in Seattle in Ballard. My mom's mother was Grandma Faivre. Mom and all her family was born in Pontarlier, Franche-comte, France. This is near the Swiss Boarder and the town I think you are talking about. It is a beautiful area, crystal clear water, lakes and beautiful forest. People there are different looking and thinking. We were very happy to go back two months ago for a full month and found our memories untouched. If you would like more let me know.
Alain

I am orginaly from Seattle Washington and my fathers name is Richard Henry Faivre. His family lived in Alderwood, Washington. He had a brother named Justin Faivre who resided in San Francisco, Calif., and worked as a artist till his passing about six years ago. I currently live in Woodland California for now, moving this summer to Oregon. I have heard my Dad talking about his family came to the United States from the Swiss and French boarder area , I just can not remember the name of the town.
