I'm not a Faley descendant, nor am I researching them; however, I found something in the Roane County (Tennessee) Court Minutes that I just could not resist copying and trying to find a descendant of John Faley to give to them!

ROANE COUNTY COURT MINUTES, 1819-1821, P. 305
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1820

John Faley upward of 27 years of age a native of Ireland and who imigrated to the United States from the county of Karry Parish and town of Killarney in Ireland and lande in Norfolk Virginia on the 17th of May in the year of 1818 and who has since resided within the United States comes now into the court here it being a court of record and on oath declares it to be his intention in good faith to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce forever allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate State of sovereignty whatever and particularly against the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland from whence said John Faley imigrated as aforesaid and this declaration he makes in order to henceforth to become a nationalized citizen of the United States according to the Laws thereof.

(Hugh Faley upward of 22 years of age ...same page and information).

Pass this on to whomever you think it will help!
