Roland is a distant ancestor of mine as well through his son Richard (William's brother). I have not been able to find anything regarding Roland's parents either, as the census records for Virginia were destroyed during the Civil War. Here's what I have been able to find:

Roland was remarried in 1854 to Susan Vest, so it's assumed that Mary died in between the 1850 census and 1854.

Roland's father could either be Robert, Dicy or William, as they are the only ones listed with males around 10 years of age. Dicy doesn't have a male listed over 16 years(?) There is a Richard Falwell (b. abt. 1790) listed in Buckingham county married to Margaret Rucker.

It is theorized that Robert and Roland Falwell were closely related (probably brothers). Both men appear to have been born in Buckingham County, Virginia and both moved to Missouri. I think that there is a letter in existence that details Roland and his family's trip to Missouri.

Roland first appears in 1829 Personal Property Tax Records. He is living in District #2 of
Buckingham County. He appears intermittently between 1831 - 1839.
He is often listed as Roland C Falwell.

In 1837 Buckingham County Land Records. He is listed as Roland D
Falwell. His land is 20 miles southwest of the town of Buckingham.
He lives closest to Robert Falwell. Roland owned about 87 acres.

Feel free to get in there and look around. Please keep me in mind if you happen to find anything.

Thanks!
