These are my ancestors too. I can't help you with William Scheufele background but his wife was Johanna Wilhemena(spelled wrong)Wolfgang.I just found a paper in my attic which states:
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scheufele celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary Sept.19,1940. They had 11 children 6 boys and 5 girls

11.Cornelia - Joe Beatty?
