Thanks for your reply!! It was my wife's father's uncle Frank who left home and no one knows what happened to him. My wife's father Frank was a machinist who lived in Baltimore, married Betty Jane Suman and died of a heart attack on Dec. 22, 1959. My wife and I have visited the graves of Theodore and Katherine in Baltimore. We hae also been to the grave of his eldest son Theodore (my wife's grandfather) which is in Glen Burnie, MD. Johanna was my wife's father's aunt.
Ray Humphrey
Cinkath@aol.com

Hi
I believe Frank left home and no one knew what happened to him. Could be wrong on this with out looking him up. His sister Johanna was my husbands grand-mother. There are several ancestors working on Theodore's line. he is buried in Balto with wife Catherine and son August. I haven't done anything with family line for several years due to the death of my husband. Where did Frank live? e-mail me at scheumom@yahoo.com

I was raised in Reisterstown, MD and married a Neighoff. Are we related to the Neighoff your referring to? My husband's father's name is John F. Neighoff, Sr. , His father was Richard Neighoff B- 1904, his father was David Neighoff B-1878.

I do recall once receiving mail that belonged to Neighoff's in Reisterstown that wasn't ours and I delivered it to a house. It was in the woods off a country road.

Jill,
I came across this post after I replied to another post of yours about FANGMANs in Cincinnati. I was wondering were you found the information about B. Fangman traveling with a Ferd Fangman. My Bernard Fangman born in Oldenburg came to Cincinnati and married Elizabeth Osterhaus (who was born in Baltimore)in 1875 and then their first son was named Ferdinand. This is too much to be just a coincidence. Would love to hear from you and anyone connected to the Fangmans.

Theresa
Fangmans in Cincinnati

Jill,
I've been researching the Fangmanns both in the U.S. and
Oldenburg. I have a Johann Henrich Fangmann born about 1797.
His children, eight of them, were all born in Oldenburg between
1825 and 1840. While researching last week I found a
passenger list record for Bernard Fangmann that showed his
destination as "Cincinaty." Email me if you'd like to compare
notes.
Joan

Fangmans in Cincinnati

Hi Joan--thanks for the reply. I read your earlier correspondence with Pam regarding Jn.H. Fangman. I originally thought it sounded like a match of what I had found. In the 1860 Ohio Census, in Cincinnati, I had a Jno.H. Fangman living with the Feldman Family. The Feldman wife was Mary A. and I presumed that she was a Fangman and Jno. H. was her father. He was born circa 1798 and she 1827. In the same census was Henry Fangman bc 1823, and my Elizabeth Fangman was living with the Uphoff family, the wife was named Gertrude and I suspect she might have been a Fangman. I'm waiting for some further info until I know for sure. I thought that the elder Jno. H., was the one you mentioned and the Henry, Maria A. and Gertrude were his children. Then, I read the posting from Pam and she had different outcomes for these people! The Catherine Elizabeth (another daughter of JH that you mention), I know was in Cincy as I saw some of her ancestry a long time ago from a descendant named Vera Tucker who lives in Cincy. All the ones I mentioned in the census were born in Oldenberg. The Bernard you referred to may be the B. Fangman who applied for naturalization in Cincy, I don't have the papers, only an excerpt that says that he entered Baltimore on 28 June 1873. He was also with a Ferd Fangman. The earliest Fangman in the naturalizations was John Frederick who arrived in Jan of 1847 through New Orleans and applied for naturalization in Cincy in 1849. Who are you descended from? Does any of this ring a bell with you?! You can also reach me at
jghughes@sprintmail.com. Thanks for the help. Jill

Fangmans in Cincinnati

I am descended from Elizabeth Fangman (circa 1842 to 1905)who lived in Cincinnati, but was born in Oldenburg, Germany. I am not sure of her parentage. She did have a brother Gregory Fangman who was a priest in Cincinnati. Elizabeth married John T. Losekamp. According to the 1860 census in Cincy, there is a Jno. H. Fangman who would have been born abt. 1798 in Oldenburg. There is also a Henry Fangman and family there. Henry was born abt. 1823. Anyone know of the Fangmans in Cincy??? Thanks.
