I had an endless source of zagarise farago history, unfortunately this information was lost to me with my grandmothers death she would have no doubt known these individuals. I am a farago on both sides of my family and do have later info.

Hey Bill...my mom and your grandmother were sisters (nee Fink). The Steve you have a letter from would be their brother who lived in Saskatoon until he passed away a couple of years ago. Steve did some research several years ago and I have some names but I need to find the info, I brought it back to my home after Uncle Steve passed away. he travelled to Hungary a couple of times to visit relatives with another sister who lives in Ontario. My greatgrandfather (Farago) was the general director of the first national bank of hungary in early 1900's, he was married to Eifrozenia Hofstettner, are any of these names familiar?

My father and his family came to America in 1956. My grandfather and father are Sandor, my great grandfather born 1886, was the general director of the hungarian national bank. Grandparents: Margaret Horvath (born 1913) and Sandor Farago (born 1911) married, and had Elisabeth, Eva, Sandor, and Balazs all of whom live in the US with thier children and grandchildren.

I have researched the birth records of Zagarise covering the dates of 1800-1910. I have found Farago, Salvatore Pancrazio, b 12-20-1885, son of Reffaele e Leone, Giuseppina. Also a Salvatore b 1-6-1892 son of Paolo and Scorza, Annarosa. Also Salvatore b 12-26-1892, son of gregorio and Pullinzi, Catarina.
These records are available at the Church of Latterday Saints, family history center. They are on microfilm and must be viewed at their facilities. They are difficult to read and or course in longhand script. I also found a Farago, Salvatore m to Mongone, mariarose with 4 children, If you have any more information, I will gladly research it for you.

Funny, I should know you. You are referring to my Grandfather (who died just before I was born) and my Great Grandfather, who died around the time of FDR's death. I know snippets of what I have been told about them by my father.

I did get married in June of 1986 but my name is Brian from Minnesota. He had lived here since 1960'ish and then moved to Florida from what we heard. He did have family in Canada though.

My granfather came from Arad...just few km from Timisoara. He arrived in Spain (where I am from) in the 30's and married my grandmother in Barcelona. You are the closest Farago link I have found.

Anton Farago and Maria Schveighardt

I am trying to trace back my heritage. Anton Farago and Maria (Schveighardt) moved to Plunkett Saskatchewan Canada around 1905 from Feher-megye Bodjak Hungary. Anton is the son of Michael Farago and Julia Sivamik. Anton was born on june 18, 1858 and died June 9, 1934.

John LUTRI married Roselia FARAGO in Hungary. She was an only child, or only living child.
Their first son was named Joseph, born in Hungary.
Joseph and his father came to Canada in 1900.
Roselia and my grandmother came in 1902.

My father's name is Harry Warren Sears. He married Angela Stella Farago and divorced in June of 1967. Angela and Harry had three sons: Harrison, Joe and Grant. Gyula Farago was my grandfather, I am trying to find out as much information as I can. I know Gyula,Rozalia(my grandmother) & Istvan(my uncle) immigrated to the US in 1911.
