Farnan's of Brooklyn by way of Ireland looking for info

Classification: Query
Surnames: Farnan
My great-great grandfather Nicholas Farnan came from Ireland in the late 1800's. His widow, Mary (Rourke/O'Rourke) Farnan survived him. She is the only one I have found in the census records.

They had 5 children: Thomas N.(my great-grandfather), Joseph A., Nicholas T., Catherine and Mary. (all born in late 1880's early 1890's)

Thomas married Charlotte Talks.

Joseph married Edna ? and had 2 sons (Edward and William).

Nicholas - unknown.

Catherine and Mary were schoolteachers and, I am told, never married.

Any information would be great as Thomas' marriage to Charlotte was not approved by the RC church being she was not Catholic and verbal history is very slim.
