Have seen your posts on Ancestry (I am a subscriber) about Thomas Farndell who was born 1790 Rumboldswyke, Chichester, Sussex and was a chelsea pensioner. My father and I are researching this direct ancestor and would be happy to share information. He must have been married before Charlotte Burchell as he served in the army in the West Indies 1821 to Oct 1827, having a son James born in St Lucia about 1826. We do not know the name of the first wife - have hit a bit of a wall on this! He returned to England with James (perhaps the first wife died in St Lucia) in Oct 1827 and was pensioned out of the army 16 Nov 1827. James Farndell, son of Thomas, was brought up by Thomas' sister Mary in Chichester. My Father and I are descendants of Thomas Farndell through his first son James.
