FARNSWORTH, Lucy Altisa/ Ohio

I would like to find information on the parents,Grandparents and siblings of Lucy Farnsworth, born April 12, 1873, in Grandview, OH, died January 13, 1958 in Louisville, Stark Co., OH. Married to Clarence J. Greene. Lucy's death certificate shows Margaret Ann Farnsworth as her mother, and Jesse Wells (son of Christopher Wells and Mary Baily) as her father. Family history says Lucy had two brothers, and Margaret's parents were John Farnsworth and Hannah Coleman. I have not been able to locate this family in OH. and would appreciate any help.

Recent information has proven that Hannah Coleman was not Margaret Ann Farnsworth's (b. around 1850) mother. Believe that Margaret's parents were John Farnsworth and Hannah (Unknown) of Washington Co., Independence Township, OH., based on Margaret's daughter was named Altlissa, and Margaret had a sisters named Artlissa, Ruth and Mary. Her daughter, Altlissa AKA Lucy, also named her daughters, Ruth and Mary. Would like to find more information on this family to prove or disprove the connection. Any help is most appreciated.
Thank you.

Farnsworth, John and Hannah Washington Co., OH

Hi Shirley,

Thank you for sending me the information on John Farnsworth and Hannah Dye (?). I believe these are the right family. The children are correct. I would appreciate your emailing me a copy of the family history on John Farnsworth of Washington County, if it's short. I've seen the book before, but wasn't researching Farnsworth at the time. Now I don't have access to the book.

I have been provided with information that eliminates Hannah Coleman as the mother of Margaret Ann Farnsworth.
John Farnsworth and Hannah Coleman's children were:
Deborah b. 1840, Louisa, Jasper b. 1846, Mary, b. 1848, David b. 1850 and Judah Ann.

John Farnsworth and Hannah (Possibly Dye) children were:
Nancy, Ruth, Mary, John C., William Henry, Martha J., Margaret A., Artlissa, Mahala and Marion. I have little doubt that Margaret named her daughter, Lucy Altisa, for her sister Artlissa. The spelling varies, but that depends upon who was doing the spelling at the time. I'll let you know if I find anything on your Martha J. Farnsworth.

Thanks for your help and good luck on your search.

Researching Juda Ann Farnsworth married Edward Ellis Smith (my Gr. Grand Parents, Mothers Side) Aug. 31, 1872. Marriage License hard to read but State of Ohio, Monroe County. I am looking for her parents. I have Dye conections on my Fathers side, also Riddle, Short, Riggs, Craft, Jones, Parish. Any lead would be appreciated.

Dee, I don't know what happened, but I just came across your reply to my query on Margaret Anna Farnsworth. Your Marion C. Farnsworth is her brother. I do not have a lot of information on their family, but am happy to share what I have. Information that was shared with me, shows their parents to be John Farnsworth b 1818 and Hannah Coleman. I am aware that many people believe that Hannah Coleman was married to another John Farnsworth, but that John Farnsworth was married to another lady at the time of the marriage of John Farnsworth to Hannah Coleman. I also believe that our John Farnsworth, was a son of the other John Farnsworth. Please contact me regarding this family. Would love to compare notes.
