I am trying to find information on Henry Farnworth, father of Letitia Farnworth. Henry was born Lancashire in the early 1800's and Letitia was born in 1833.

Henry married Betty / Betsey, I believe, around 1827 but I can find no record of her maiden name or exact date of the wedding.

Letitia was married to William Beech.

My grandfather was born to the Farnworth family in Sangamon County, Springfield Illinois in 1923 -- details are sketchy; it was covered up as the circumstances of his birth were not without blemish. I know that the family was English/Welsh, that his mother's name was Mary Farnworth, and that he had a cousin his age named Mary Alice. I have found a couple named Lawrence and Mary Alice Farnworth whom I believe to be his grandparents. They traveled to Liverpool once in 1911 and once in 1924. Perhaps this Thomas is related to them? Do you know anything of Lawrence Farnworth? Pls. e-mail me if you do.

Looking for parents of Richard Farnworth born circa 1796 in Lancashire, England. Married to Mary ________ Farnworth - born ca. 1798 in Worsley, Lancashire, England.

In 1841 census, Richard was living at "the Barracks" in Clifton, Lancashire, England with wife Mary and children Thomas, Ann, William and Joseph. Joseph later came to America (CA. 1865) and settled in Westmoreland Co, PA.

Joseph changed spelling to Farneth sometime before coming to America. Any info on Richards parents and his line would be appreciated.

In Re: Thomas Farnworth- My great grandfather, Joseph Farnworth ( later Farneth) had an older brother named Thomas. According to the 1841 census of Clifton district, Lancashire , England Thomas was listed as unmarried approx age 15 and it looks like he may have had a fraternal twin sister, Ann. In the 1851 census, his mother Mary is listed as a widow living in Bold St., Worsley, Lancashire. Her occupation was listed as householder and her son Thomas is listed with her with the occupation as weaver. In 1861 they are listed again on the same street with Mary's occupation as washerwoman and Thomas listed as a weaver.

This is, unfortunately, all I know about my great grandfather's family before he came to America. We may be talking about different families since my great grandfather's older brother looks like he never married. The parish church for that region was St. Peters church in Eccles.

Good luck in your search. This information was provided by a Mr. Walter Hanson of Worsley (now deceased).

Hi, would you have any further info on Thomas Farnworth, son of the Richard and Mary in your Farnworth tree as i have Thomas Farnworth in mine also born Worsley brn c1830, have details about him after this all children and what most of them did but cannot find parents and was wondering if their could be any connection. His marriage and all children were brn worsley so here is hoping.
