I am not related to the Farragut family, but my great-grandfather, James Garvey, served under him during the civil war. I have a letter from my uncle stating that my ggf also sailed with the Admiral's flotilla on the "four year around-the-the world tour," and that he was a member of the navy band. I am unable to find a reference to this "Good Will Tour" in the history books. Does anyone have any information? Especially which 4 years!
