Looking for data on Civil War veteran Wells A. Farrah
who served with the 87th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.
The unit mustered in York in September 1861. I am
writing a history of the regiment and seek firsthand
accounts by the veterans. I am also building a
database of personal data on each soldier and need
your help in that huge task.
Farrah, Wells A. Capt Co H; mustered Sept 19, 1864, as a volunteer
(he assisted in recruiting the company); killed in action June 15,
1863, at the battle of Carter's Woods; born Sept 20, 1826; a store
owner from Wellsville, York County; married widow Jane E. McMullen;
children: Arthur and Adelaide
