Thnx John. They must have emigrated c.1903. Daniel's son was born in SA in April 1904. Arthur Aberdeen Farrell worked as ry station master in Zambia, Zim and SA.GChildren were born in Zim, moved to Cape Town and scattered. 2 are now in Vic. Can put mother in law in touch if you want. She knows more. I guess you know about colourful history of Wm McKay Aberdeen "Lord of Balmoral". Good obit info & for wife on web. She was crushed by a cart. 2 v. small photos attrib to him too.2 family sites say his father was Duke of Gordon- looks like wishful thinking.http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d.... Bernard states 26 when he married. Farrell, Mackay & Co were mining next to Aberdeen land in 1864 too!? How do you know he was born in Dublin? Do you know county or city? There was apparently a Heron family of Dublin & Melbourne books.google.com/books?isbn=0953997421. Do you know anything?–– Neil
