Martha Jane Sullivan Farris
RALEIGH — Martha Jane Sullivan Farris, 69, of Raleigh passed away Wednesday March 7, 2012. She was born July 21, 1942 in Robeson County, the daughter of the late Wayman Jackson Sullivan and Juanita Greene Sullivan.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh, member of Padre Pio Fraternity in Raleigh, Franciscan Family of Greensboro, and Madonna House. She was active in mission work and was a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Farris retired as a registered nurse after 31 years.
Surviving are: her devoted husband, Tommy Farris of Raleigh; a son, John Bryan Freeman and wife, Jan of Greensboro; three daughters, Mary Freeman Gilbert of Georgia, Lori Anne Freeman Flanigan of Delaware and Ellen Freeman Knight and husband, Philip of Winston-Salem: ten grandchildren, Sarah, Ben, Courtney, Max, Aren, Rachel, Katie, Hannah, Amy, David and four great-grandchildren, a brother, Henry Jackson Sullivan and wife, Martha of Sneads Ferry; a sister, Mary Juli Sullivan Warren and husband, Roy of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Flay Freeman of Winston-Salem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 p.m. Saturday at St. Bernadettes RC Church, 2085 NC Highway 10, Linville, NC.
