ASHLEY LEE FARRIS
Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center
Ashley Lee Farris (Sissy) was taken from those who loved her on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at approximately 10:50am after a long and courageous eight-and-a-half year battle with colon cancer. Wednesday would have been her 27th birthday. Ashley was born on September 26, 1985 in Moses Lake, WA, at Samaritan Hospital. She passed away at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA.
She was the daughter of Darrell and Rita Farris.
She is survived by Darrell and Rita, her sister and brother from California, Heidi and Casey, her sister Anita and brothers Nick and Andrew of Tri Cities, WA. She is also survived by friend and kindred spirit, Miranda Gilmore of Portland, OR.
Ashley was loved and returned that love to numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and her grandparents. She loved her family.
Ashley was engaged to Jeremiah Strong of Nevada. They had planned a wedding for next summer. She attended school in the Columbia Burbank District from grades 4-11, but graduated from high school in California. Ashley was a beautiful strong individual who loved the beach almost as much as her friends and family.
Her battle with colon cancer did not define her. Whenever someone asked how she was doing, she just smiled and said "I'm good." Because of her positive outlook and attitude about life, many of her friends did not realize how she struggled with this disease. Her life touched all she met.
We would like to thank the nursing staff of 3OP at Kadlec, Dr. Foss and Dr. Hashmi for the care given to not only Ashley during her final days, but also to her family.
Viewing will be held Thursday September 27, 2012 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center in Pasco. Viewing will continue Friday September 28, 2012 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00pm with services at 2:00pm.
